Meet The Teaching Team

Mrs Riley

Prior to becoming re-training to become a teacher, I travelled to various countries around the world and eventually graduated with a degree in Law and practised insurance law in the United States. After four years, I made the decision that I needed a more fulfilling career and so my journey into teaching began. My teacher training brought me back to the UK and I found myself at a wonderful Church of England school in rural Devon before I decided to relocate to be closer to family in Shropshire, where I grew up. I adore working with children and I am so thankful that I made the leap into teaching after considering it for so long.

This will be my second year at Newtown and I am very excited to return from maternity leave after welcoming my first baby, a little girl, in February. Outside of school, you will find me out walking in the countryside with my husband and our little Cocker Spaniel, Pip, reading with a hot cup of tea, and planning trips as travelling is still very much a passion of mine.

Mrs Reece

I have been a teaching assistant for 10 years here at Newtown, before that I was a Special Needs Support Worker for 9 years. I love working with children helping them to grow in all aspects of their learning. Seeing their faces always makes me smile.

Outside of school I have a son in Year 11, he keeps me busy! I enjoy spending time with family and friends and having meals out.  I have a love for cooking, and trying new recipes.

OUR VISION

'Let your light shine' encapsulates the school's commitment to provide an enriching education which is deep and broad.
